Thank you for using Emap. This Privacy Policy explains what information the Emap mobile app (“we”, “our”, “the App”) collects, how we use and share that information, and the controls you have.
This policy applies to both Android and iOS versions of the app and reflects the permissions and libraries declared in the Android and iOS

2. Information We Collect
2.1 Location Data

When in use:
The app requests location to get precise GPS location while you use the app. This is used for:-
Attendance checks

If grantedBACKGROUND LOCATION, the app may access location while in the background to support attendance or geofencing.
You will be asked explicitly for this permission and can deny it.
Purpose: To verify attendance within an allowed radius, display maps, and enable location-based time/attendance logic.
2.2 Photos & Camera

The app may request Camera and Photo Library permissions for:

Taking photos (e.g., for profile or documentation).

Selecting images from your gallery.

These permissions are only used when you explicitly choose to take or upload a photo.
2.3 Device & App Information

Device model, OS version, and app version.

Local storage (using
sqfliteandshared_preferences) for preferences, offline attendance, cached map tiles, and settings. -
Network connectivity status (using
connectivity_plus) to detect online/offline mode.
2.4 Other Libraries / Plugins

google_maps_flutter / Google Maps API: Displays maps. Google may process data under its own policies.

geolocator, geocoding: Obtain GPS data and convert locations to addresses.

detect_fake_location: Detect spoofed locations. Data may be stored locally or transmitted for attendance verification.

image_picker, mobile_scanner: Enable image capture/selection and QR scanning (only when invoked).
3. How We Use the Collected Information
We use data for:

Attendance & location validation (check-in/out within permitted areas).

Maps & navigation display.

Profile management (profile photo, metadata).

Offline history & caching (local attendance history).

Security & fraud prevention (fake location detection).

Diagnostics & troubleshooting (bug fixing and performance improvements).
4. Data Retention & Storage

Local Storage: Attendance records, cached maps, and settings are stored on your device. Uninstalling the app usually removes this data.

Server Storage (if applicable): If connected to a backend server, attendance and profile data may be stored there (governed by that server’s privacy policy).

Retention Period: Data is kept only as long as necessary for the service or legal requirements.
